The Relationship Between Real Estate and Real Life

Real estate is often seen as just a transactional process. Buy, sell, sign papers, move in, and move out. But, in reality, it is so much more than that. Buying or selling a property is an event that can impact your life in profound ways. JJ and Samuel’s real estate journey is an excellent example of how the process of buying a home is not just about acquiring property but also about making changes to your life.

This is Their Story

JJ and Samuel were living in a 600 square foot apartment on the 16th floor in South Alexandria, with two dogs and two people working from home. It was a challenging situation with a lot of activity in a small space. The fire alarms were going off all the time, and they had to take their laundry down 16 flights to do their laundry. They did not want to sign the lease again and be stuck there for another year.  They reached a breaking point and decided it was time to move out.

They made the decision to leave the rental world and start looking for a home to buy. JJ and Samuel looked at 25 to 30 houses, but they consciously made the decision not to let the market dictate to them what they wanted to buy. They wanted to find a place they were comfortable with. Gary Hughes, aka Novaagent, was there with them every step of the way. Samuel said “Gary gave us space to make decisions about where we wanted to live. He did not pressure us to make a decision so he could be on to the next client.”

They found their dream home, a half-acre inside the Beltway in Morningside, Maryland, in their price range. JJ became a gardener which is great because Samuel loves to cook. They now have space outside to grow their food and have two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and two offices in the house. It is a perfect match for them, and they are happy.
